The first journal of 1998 begins with a look our work designing Yapi Kredi Bank's new operations centre on a greenfield site outside of Istanbul.
Working with architects John McAslan & Partners, we provided structural engineering, building services, fit-out, facade, communications, fire, landscaping, acoustics and project management services for the new centre.
Switching to North America, we look at work with the Menil Foundation of Houston, for whom we provided a multidisciplinary team to help deliver architect Francois de Menil Glass Chapel which will house the restored fragments of two Byzantine frescos from a chapel in Cyprus.
We also explore work carried out for the City of New York, who commissioned Arup to undertake a thorough renovation of the 19th century Enid A Haupt Conservatory, the largest of its kind in the USA.
Finally, we look in detail at the New Jersey Performing Arts Centre in Newark, and our building physics analysis for Wenko-Wenselaar's new headquarters.
