Sacramento Valley Station - Working with the City of Sacramento, design firm Perkins&Will and Grimshaw Architects, Arup helped develop the masterplan of what will be one of the most sustainable public areas in California.

We use a place-based approach to decision-making for rail projects: this means that the station design process is informed by a wider analysis of local needs, population levels, commercial and employment opportunities.

Arup’s rail masterplanning team has long experience undertaking this process, letting the form of each scheme be shaped by local factors and opportunities. Equally, there is compelling evidence that the development value of new rail schemes stimulates growth in housing and local commercial activity – all elements that can and should be part of the masterplanning process.
