Resort development
Every resort development has a unique identity, location and requirements.
Arup offers a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach, supporting clients through scheme development and design, backed by a range of relevant supporting technical skills. Leisure and resort projects in particular necessitate a multifaceted blend of expertise and foresight to deliver premium experiences that are not only inviting and appealing but also environmentally sustainable.
We enable clients to implement green infrastructure systems, tailored for remote, beach, and island settings, encompassing energy-efficient and water conservation solutions. Our wide range of services includes project management, logistics, ecology, building physics, and marine engineering, available to craft exceptional resorts as shown by the vast Marina Bay Sands integrated resort project in Singapore.
Conceived by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, Marina Bay Sands is one of the world's most recognisable skyscrapers. Located in the heart of Singapore's Marina Bay downtown district, it integrates a prestigious waterfront promenade with iconic retail, entertainment and hotel facilities, all combined with public spaces and breathtaking views of the city.
Arup was responsible for multidisciplinary engineering including advanced works, infrastructure, structural, civil, fire and geotechnical engineering, building physics, maritime engineering, traffic, lighting design, façade and acoustic consulting, and risk management.
