Arup has been selected by Korea Offshore Wind Power to deliver Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for Phase 2 of South Korea’s landmark West South Offshore Wind Project.
Collaborating with Yooshin Engineering Corporation and COWI, we will be responsible for designing the offshore substation topside, substructure and subsea cable for this pivotal renewable energy development.
Phase 2, set to generate 400MW of clean energy, lays a solid foundation for an ambitious 2.4GW clean energy programme, positioning South Korea as a frontrunner in offshore wind development. Our appointment demonstrates our growing expertise in renewable energy infrastructure and strengthens our presence in Asia’s rapidly expanding offshore wind sector.
“This partnership represents a crucial step in realising South Korea’s offshore wind ambitions. Arup’s collaborative approach and technical excellence have been instrumental in building trust throughout this process,” said Byeon Byung Seok, Manager of Wind Power Department, Yooshin Engineering.
“Drawing on our global capabilities and local knowledge, our integrated team is committed to delivering innovative solutions that bolster South Korea’s clean energy transition while setting new standards for sustainable infrastructure development,” said Steve Yoon, Korea Country Manager, Arup.
