Active travel monitoring and evaluation
To test the ongoing effectiveness of active travel schemes, and ensure they continue to complement the wider transport network, measurement and monitoring are key.

To carry out this monitoring and evaluation, we have developed the industry’s leading spatial design network analysis tool in partnership with the Cardiff School of Planning and Geography. This tool uses industry-standard network representations to analyse accessibility and predict flows of people walking and cycling.

In San Jose, California, we built a decision-support system and monitoring tool for Move San José, a city-wide mobility plan. The plan establishes a new decision-making process that joins citywide policies, neighborhood improvements, and reinvention of our city streets. The goal is a San José that is easier and more convenient to get around without a car while being safer to travel in. It does this with a strong emphasis on addressing the inequalities in our transportation system for residents we have historically underserved.
