With over 25 years of experience across rail design, engineering and strategy, Phil leads Arup’s Rail Business in the UK, India, Middle East and Africa. 

He brings diverse expertise across heavy rail, freight, light rail, personal rapid transit systems, stations and depots, with his expertise spanning resilience, renewals, enhancements and electrification. Phil partners with a wide range of rail clients from across government, asset owners, train and franchise operating companies, developers and design and build contractors to support deliver their desired outcomes and ambitions by leveraging the breadth and depth of Arup’s global capabilities and skills to overcome complex challenges.

Phil is also the Global Rail Skills Leader at Arup. In this role he works with Arup University and a range of subject matter experts to advance cutting-edge skills and capabilities and deliver best practice for our clients.
