Application process

    Apply online

    Submitting your application online is simple. The process takes about 20 minutes and can be saved to finish later. Once your Arup profile is set up, you can apply for more roles manually or by linking your LinkedIn profile.

    Interviews

    If you are selected for interview, a suitable time will be arranged, this will be held either on Microsoft Teams or in person and will be approximately 1 hour long. The process may differ slightly depending on the role, and you will be asked to attend between 2-3 interviews before a job offer is made. For some senior level roles this could include psychometric testing. Interviews are not only for our team to greater understand your experience, they also allow you to ask any additional questions you may have about Arup, the role and our culture. To ensure a fair process for all, our hiring managers go through inclusive hiring training.

    Decision

    If you have been successful our team will be in touch to discuss next steps. In some regions you will be required to go through a background check. These checks will include references from previous employers, verifying your qualifications with universities, colleges and schools and undertaking credit and criminal record checks.

Director/principal-level recruitment process

    Apply online

Once your Arup profile is set up, you can apply for more roles manually or by linking your LinkedIn profile. Your submitted application will be reviewed by a member of our Executive Hiring Team. They will assess your skills and experience in line with the requirements of the role.

    Panel interview

    This initial panel interview will be conducted with the local hiring team and will assess your qualifications and suitability for the position, including your core leadership capability.

  3. 3

    Online assessment

    This segment of the process might vary and be different in some countries. Your executive recruiter will advise you on the requirements for your region.

  4. 4

    Second panel interview

    This second panel interview will be conducted with regional board members within the country of origin in which the opportunity is located. The interview focus depends on the role, however, typically includes both a short presentation (on business vision) and an interview section, specific behavioural-based questions.

    Final panel interview

    Will be conducted with two members of Arup’s Group Board, who hold key leadership positions within the company, and may be based in different geographies. Their insights and perspectives will play a crucial role in evaluating your potential impact in role and alignment with the organisation’s global vision.
